This movie is really good, and it's really really sad. Because in the end, Barbara Hershey dies.
She and Bette Middler become friends when they're little girls (the younger counterparts are played by a brown haired girl and Blossom). They meet one summer on the beach, under a boardwalk and they become fast friends. Then they grow up (and become Bette Middler and Barbara Hershey) and they go through ups and downs of friendships, but in the end, they spend one last summer together on the beach, and they're back to being best friends when Barbara Hershey kicks it.
And then Bette sings that song. You all know what song I'm talking about. Seriously, this is a really good movie.
And these are some pictures of Jones Beach in Long Island, which relates because, as the name suggests, it is also a beach.
This is me running...
And I'm telling my friend Aaron the he is the wind beneath my wings...
this is me being the wind beneath my own wings, because, if Barbara Hershey isn't around, you have to be your own wind.
After this picture was taken, Aaron and I ran ourselves into the ocean. It was sad. Not as sad as the movie Beaches, but sad, still.
What are your thoughts on either the movie Beaches or other beach memories?
