The Empire Strikes Back

And boy, does it ever.

You've all seen it (the name of the blog is Movies You've Already Seen), and you know it's awesome.

First they're all cold, on that snowy planet, and then Luke gets punched in his face by that creature, and then Han is all, "I'll save him, because we're besties", and then...the Empire Strikes Back. They send their creepy elephant robots to shoot everyone, and the lasers are all, "pew pew". But they escape. And then the shenanigans begin.

Quick overview, Leia kisses Luke (not for real, just to make Han jealous, which totally works), and Darth Vader really really wants to find Luke, but Luke finds Yoda, and learns lots of things about the Force, but not enough, when he sets off to rescue Leia and Han. Yoda's worried that he won't ever come back, that he'll come go to the dark side.

And he gets his chance too, when he fights Darth Vader, who asks him to come to the dark side.

When Luke won't do it, Darth's all, "take that!" and cuts off Luke's hand.

Then Han gets frozen and is taken to Jabba the Hut.

All in all, it's pretty exciting. For some reason I thought that Luke cut off Darth Vader's hand, so, needless to say, I was pretty surprised at that part.

I thought that this movie moved a lot faster than the first one. There was less exposition, obviously, but there was just a lot more story and action and things clipped along at a brisk pace.

I am excited to see how the Scooby gang rescues Fred, er, Han Solo, from the clutches of creepy Jabba the Hut.

I've attached the picture below because I found it and I think it's awesome. When exactly does Han dip Leia like this in the movie? Did I miss this part? It looks like the movie poster from Gone with the Wind in Space.

  1. That's the best movie review I've read in my whole life. Amazing.

My favorite part is: "then Han is all, 'I'll save him, because we're besties."

"When Luke won't do it, Darth's all like: 'Take that!'"

Truly awesome. I can't wait to watch Jedi with you.
