Bad News, Plant Lovers

The zucchinis might be a lost cause.
Powdery mildew.
It's most deadly in hot, humid weather.
In August, when the plants start to age.
And when plants are watered from above
(which I do, and it also rains a lot).

The tomatoes? Blossom end rot. Not as deadly, but still a blight.

And James has the influenza. He just doesn't know it yet.

This is bad news for me,
and also my pals who've come to rely on
my weekly food bank-type handing over of fresh produce.

I'm planning on spraying everything with milk tomorrow,
but, you know, you can only do so much.

  1. What? Influenza? I feel fine, Dr. Val. Oh wait. I have a cough.

Uh-oh. How long do I have? Will I make it to Peppermint Ice Cream Season?
