A Strongly Worded Piece of Advice

This is it:

See the movie Bright Star.

I saw it today with my mom (which continues our seeing-great-movies-together roll, past winners include Lars and the Real Girl), and it was...just go see it.

It's in limited release, I'd seek it out.

End of advice.

For further, more personal advice, please contact me directly. I also give unsolicited advice. In those cases, I will contact you.

  1. This is such a clever post. You can give me unsolicited advice whenever. I need all the help I can get.

I haven't heard of the movie, but I'm going to look into it.

  2. It just came out, Linds. Keep a weather eye open, or come to New York, and we'll all see it together.

  3. We were just discussing our excitement for this movie at my poetry night (where we all dress in black and recite really bad poetry that we have written. Hilarious fun.) Then we pulled out a book of Keats and contemplated our lost youth. Consumption was mentioned several times.

  4. Rachel, you can bet your bottom dollar that excitement is totally warranted.
Also, your poetry nights sound amazing. Send me an invite; I'll write some uncomfortably personal confessional poetry and come ready to read.
