it is what it is, and it's a New Moon post

(the first of many)

So, while visiting Annie in North Carolina,
we watched a few interviews with cast members of the film.
And by and large, they are not a charming bunch.

Some are probably better than others, but, really, awful.

I had despaired, until I found this interview with director
Chris Weitz.
He's smart and savvy,
gives credit where it's due
(the cinematographer, Javier Aguirresarobe),
speaks candidly about the disaster his last film was
(The Golden Compass),
and is refreshingly self-deprecating
(he makes it clear that he is not Princess Diana).

So, read it.
I, for one, am in the middle of a fan letter.

p.s. just for the record, the very worst interview of all was Jimmy Kimmel. the best we saw was Jimmy Fallon.

  1. Read it. Still don't want to see the movie.

Although you're right on all counts about Chris Weitz.

And he was right on all counts about The Golden Compass. I was relieved to read his take on it because that movie is the ultimate definition of a joyless adaptation of a pretty fantastic book. Check the OED.
