Falling on the Upper West Side

Okay, just for the record, I don't actually fall that much. I think I note here every time I fall, so, I can see why you'd start to think that maybe I'm a little accident prone. But, I'm not. Which is maybe why I'm always so astounded when it happens that I think it's news, and write it down here.

I'm not going to beat around the bush. I was running up a down escalator, while looking at my phone. Apparently, a pretty bad combination. My friend Rachel says that no good can ever come from talking on phones--unless there's prize money involved.

I tend to think she's right.

The result: A super bruised foot, a bruised knee, and a scratched wrist.

From now on, I'm only allowed to use my phone (talk and/or look at it) from a seated position.

  1. I didn't even ask you about injuries! I'm such a jerk. But I'm also very right about the phone thing.

  3. just for you:

If I have to move up in a building, I choose the elevator over the escalator. Because one time I was riding the escalator and I tripped. I fell down the stairs for an hour and a half. -Demetri Martin

    you're welcome.
