How We Disagree

James and I disagree on a number of important topics:

Jam, namely. He likes strawberry, I like raspberry. Also, the importance of correct spelling (I'm a product of spell check). And, importantly at this time, Christmas music.

I'm a traditionalist. I don't mind when contemporary artists cover traditional Christmas songs (I'm looking at you fondly, Sufjan*), but, I don't like it when they mix it up and "make it their own". Yawn.

It's not like I need to listen to Bing Crosby and Harry Connick Jr. for a month straight, but, I like to keep it simple. And by simple I mean traditional:
O Come, O Come Emmanuel
'Twas in the Moon at Winter Time
The Coventry Carol
Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming

Yeah. Old school.Things that we do agree on:
Thomas Kinkade
movie popcorn

*the day Fleet Foxes does a Christmas album of old mountain airs will be a happy day at the Best homestead.

  1. Oh my goodness! you all couldn't be merrier or gayer! Awesome!

What about the Carpenters? GK started to play the Carpenter Christmas Portrait at the BEGINNING of October.

    It's grown on me.

    Like fungus.

  2. So...on those three things that you do agree on is it:

    like can't live without

  3. Susanna, I loooooooooove the Carpenters. I could listen to that album all year. I don't, of course, because I don't want to be one of those people.

Lindsey, yeah, you've pretty much hit it right on the money, but, change "like can't live without" to "like can't live without even though it makes me feel like i'm going to die 10 minutes into the movie because I've been wolfing it down since before the yogi bear preview".
