here's what's right with me

The California Roll.

I know, I know, it's lightweight sushi. I get it. But it's what I wanted. And it was just what the doctor (WebMD) ordered. I'm always interested in food that's not indigenous to your upbringing that still occupies a place of comfort food. I mean, tomato soup with grilled cheese? Sure. Tuna casserole? Obviously. But how can sushi (ok, a california roll) still feel so familiar and wholesome? A culinary mystery.

  2. Sushi/California rolls are something(s) I've always felt like I SHOULD like, on matter of principle, but don't. Same with cheesecake. Mad props for finding something you dig eating nowadays, though. I'm gonna go make some waffles.

    Liz, I know what you mean. I also feel that way about cheesecake. And chicken, if we're getting right down to it.

  4. What the crap is wrong with chicken? It's wonderful, marinatable, and tastes great in Chinese food. I also loved it rotissed. And so do you, naysayer.
