My birthday is in late September, and the very first thing I did when I turned 18 was register to vote. On a sunny day, outside of a Target. My first "I voted" sticker hung, framed, in my room, for years.
I think voting is one of the most important things we can do as citizens, and deserves our full dedication. Admittedly, dedication is not as hard when you can stroll to your polling place at 2:30 in the afternoon, park Edie next to a booth, and finish voting in about two seconds.
But, the voters in New York had enough dedication for us all.
Way to go, New York. May we all be like-minded in our civic dedication.
