R.F. O'Sullivan, or, More Burgers in Boston

Lest you think we'd given up the search, here is R.F. O'Sullivan's, visited on a dreary, cold Saturday last week.

So, first up, I don't think I was totally in the mood for burgers.  We texted Chelsea to see if she could join us, and, while waiting to hear back, I was already coming up with alternate plans.  I'd settled on Border's Cafe (not the bookstore) when we heard back--in the affirmative--from Chelsea, so, maybe I wasn't in the proper burger-spirit.

Secondly, I don't think I made a good burger choice.  I liked the name--the Cape Codder--and kind of ignored how boring it sounded (swiss and avocado, yawn).  It was, however, kind of boring.  The burger itself was solid, so, maybe with a more practiced eye for the menu I could get it right.  Chelsea's burger (pictured above) was not boring, and she loved it.  Also great was house-made bbq sauce and the best onion rings I've had in a really long time.

Dreary Saturdays must not be a hopping time for this bar, so our waitress stuck close and chatted.  Edie ate nothing except bbq sauce dipped carrots (well, just the sauce, the carrots acted as more of a bbq sauce vehicle), we got treats from a nearby bakery afterward, and we all smelled like burgers for the rest of the day.  So, all in all, a total success.
