Nowstalgia

My friend Jen coined this phrase, and it makes a lot of sense to me.  Like, now.  Everything about her.  The way she says milk with two syllables.  The way she says, "I don't like it."  Or the way she yells "help, help" when she wants something off a high shelf.  The way she smiles unbegrudgingly  when I laugh at her pouty face.  I don't know, just everything.

  1. Milk with 2 syllables? I seem to recall that being annoying to you. She gets away with everything!!!

    1. I actually think of that every time she does it. And think of how much less annoying it is when she does it.

    1. Incorrect, Annie. Not adorable, horrifying. Just thinking about it . . . shudder.

  5. Thank you, Valerie, for this dose of wisdom and perspective. I'm working on being more present with my sons, and I'm realizing daily that it's important to enjoy the moments that happen now. Like when Miles says, "My hands is dirty!" It doesn't get much better than that. (Well, 'meeeeooowwk' comes close.) ~ Terrah :)
