I've been learning a new song, All I Want is You. There are a lot of words, so I've been practicing, and Posy is my best test subject. Edie gets impatient with imperfection and requests the standards, specifically Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, her favorite.
But Posy will listen as I sing, with frequent pauses to remember the lines. And though I sing it to both girls, I like that Posy is my more accepting audience, because Edie had so many firsts, and probably always will, and I like the idea of Posy having a song that is shared, but mostly hers. She seems to like the chorus, which I sing most comfortably. So, as she gurgles happily, I hold her in my arms and sway her like the sea.
